There may come a time when a family member will start needing assistance and support around the house. Often, a loved one will be in denial about needing any support, and it falls on his or her family and friends to look for warning signs that something is amiss. However, some people might not know what signs to look for. Below are some warning signs that a loved one needs assistance at home.

• They experience feelings of loneliness and depression often

• Are becoming increasingly forgetful

• Have had a noticeable decline in personal hygiene

• Are not cleaning up after themselves like they once were

• Are having difficulty walking and moving

• Are experiencing unexplained bruising

• Have had sudden changes in appetite

• Have adopted a poor diet

• Have lost interest in hobbies

• Have begun to shut themselves off from the world

• Report feeling angry quite often

• Are missing appointments

• Are having issues maintaining a clean household

• Are having difficulty keeping up with finances

• Are becoming more secretive and paranoid
